Don’t be ashamed of your mental health situation. Don’t be embarrassed to say you see a therapist or that you’re on medication. Doing those things are stepping stones to getting well and living a healthier and happier life. Having depression, an eating disorder, anxiety, schizophrenia, or any other mental illness may be part of who you are but they don’t define who you are. You didn’t choose to have a mental illness. Suffering from a mental illness does not make you a bad person so don’t let anyone or anything convince you otherwise.
